3 found shot dead in Chicago

Hotel Murah di Lampung - Three people have been found shot dead in a Chicago suburb in what officials describe as a home invasion. Darien police Chief Robert Pavelchic says a young woman called 911 early Tuesday while she was hiding in a closet. Pavelchic says officers found the three victims when they arrived at the house. Detectives are talking to the woman.

Pavelchic says the shootings don't appear to be random and he doesn't believe residents in the area are in danger. Darien Mayor Kathleen Weaver described the situation as a home invasion.

The names of the victims haven't been released. Police say no suspects are in custody.

Police say three family members have been found shot dead in their home just west of Chicago.

The victims were identified as Jeffrey Kramer, 50, his wife Lori, 48, and their son Michael, 20, Darien Deputy Police Chief John Cooper said. They were each shot several times.

Cooper says the Kramers' daughter Angela called 911 around 3 a.m. Tuesday while hiding in a closet. He says two other people also were in the house - 29-year-old son Anthony, who escaped through a basement window, and an unidentified female family friend, who also escaped.

Police say no suspects are in custody and no weapon has been found.

The shooting took place around 3 a.m. an affluent neighborhood of Darien, southwest of the city. Police say the shooter very likely knew the victims and that this was not a random act of violence, reports CBS Station WBBM in Chicago.

Police found a front window had been broken and was likely the entry point into the home.

"This house, in my opinion, was targeted," said Darien Police Chief Robert Pavelchik.

When police arrived, "they observed a couple people down on the floor that had been shot. They were able to find the caller hiding in the house and bring that person out of the house to safety," said Pavelchik. "Angela was the one who was hiding in the closet and made the 911 call."

Police say there is a suspect on the loose. They have ruled out murder-suicide and no weapon was found inside the home.

"At three in the morning, in a neighborhood like this to have a random act of violence - that would be highly unlikely in my professional opinion," said Pavelchik.

"We are trying to figure out who we are looking for,'' Darien Deputy Police Chief John Cooper said. said. He did not know immediately if anything was taken from the home.

Cooper said police were interviewing the three people who were inside the house at the time of the attack. But police do not believe that they have anything to do with the murders.

But who would want to kill this family? That's what friends can't answer.

"Just fun-loving people, never did anything wrong. Always smiles on their faces," said family friend Matt Schuster. "He owned a towing business and was always helping people."

Schuster said he can't think of any reason why they would be targeted.

The tragedy has startled neighbors, who woke up to gunfire and police tape near their property.
